No. 9 Wrestling Cages Polar Bears in OAC Dual Match

ADA, Ohio – The two-time defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion and ninth-nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team defeated Ohio Northern University by a final score of 23-9 in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match inside the ONU Sports Center

BW (6-0, 2-0 OAC) has won 17 straight matches dating back to last season. Ohio Northern (0-1, 0-1 OAC) has now lost five straight to the Yellow Jackets.

BW was led by sophomore 141-pounder Aaron Kelley (Rocky River) as he pinned his opponent in 3:30 minutes.

In addition, senior 125-pounder Chris Doyle (Akron/Doyle), who is fourth nationally ranked, won his match by an 11-7 decision.  Freshman 149-pounder Stanley Bleich (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic) earned the 11-6 decision.  Junior All-American 165-pounder Aaron Arroyo (Maumee), who is second in the national rankings, picked up an 8-2 decision.  Junior 174-pounder Justin Ransom (Madison), who is 10th nationally ranked, won in overtime by a score of 4-3.  Junior All-OAC 184-pounder Zeckary Lehman (Akron/Revere) earned the 4-0 decision.  Senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC 197-pounder Tyler Maclellan (Medina/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) won by a 5-3 decision.                                                   

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, December 2 when it travels to York, Pennsylvania to compete in the New Standard Corporation Invitational hosted by York College at 8 am.
