No. 6 Wrestling Stays Undefeated in OAC Action with Defeat of Heidelberg

TIFFIN, OHIO– The two-time defending Ohio Athletic Conference champion and sixth-nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University wrestling stayed perfect in the Ohio Athletic Conference standings as it defeated Heidelberg University by a final score of 35-8 in the Seiberling Gymnasium. 

BW (18-2, 5-0 OAC) has now won 18 straight OAC matches and has knocked off 20 of its last 21 conference opponents.  Heidelberg (7-7, 3-2 OAC) has now lost four straight matches to the Yellow Jackets

BW was led by junior 184-pounder Zeckary Lehman (Akron/Revere), senior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC 197-pounder Tyler Maclellan (Medina/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy and senior 285-pounder Gabe Mahaney (Green) as the trio closed out the match win pinfalls victories.  Lehman put the match away with the win in 2:31. Maclellan earned the victory in 3:32. Mahaney, who is ranked 10th nationally, claimed the win in 5:54.

Winning by major decisions, sophomore 133-pounder Dante Ginnetti (Poland/Seminary) and freshman 149-pounder Stanley Bleich (North Ridgeville/Elyria Catholic) each won by a major decision. Ginnetti, who is ranked ninth nationally, earned the 10-0 major decision. Bleich captured the 10-2 major decision.

Picking up decisions wins were sophomore 141-pounder Aaron Kelly (Rocky River), junior All-American and All-OAC 165-pounder Anthony Arroyo (Maumee) and junior 174-pounder Justin Ransom (Mason). Kelly earned a 9-6 overtime victory.   Arroyo, who is third nationally ranked and this week's OAC Wrestler of the Week, claimed the 7-1 win.  Ransom took home the 3-1 win.
