BW Men’s Tennis Team Loses at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team lost at Ohio Athletic Conference rival the University of Mount Union, 5-4, on the Mount Union Courts.

In doubles play, Mount Union (13-5, 5-3 OAC) won two of three matches to take a 2-1 lead against BW (15-2, 4-1 OAC). The number-one duo of junior  All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC standout Peter Harris (Akron/ Richfield Revere) and junior All-OAC  and Academic All-OAC player Doug Ganim (Westervillle/ Olentangy Orange) won an 8-3 decision. Harris and Ganim improved to 19-3 this season and 62-17 in their careers to move into a tie for 14th place all-time at BW.

In singles play, the two teams split the six matches. Harris won at No.1 by the scores of 6-3 and 6-4 to improve to 18-4 this season and 62-13 in his career to move into a tie for 13th place all-time. Ganim won at No.2 by a 7-5, 0-6 and 7-5 count to improve to 17-3 this season and 59-13 in his career to rank 17th all-time. In addition, sophomore Brian Carano (Akron/ Richfield Revere) won at No.6 by a 7-5 and 6-4 score to improve to 15-2 this season and 20-4 in his career.

BW is back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 19 when the Yellow Jackets travel to Columbus to play OAC rival Capital University on the Capital University Tennis Courts at 12 noon.
