ALLIANCE, Ohio – The fifth-seeded Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team ended its season as it was defeated by fourth-seeded the University of Mount Union in an Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament quarterfinal match, 5-3, on the Mount Union Courts.

In the OAC Tournament, all matches are ended when the winning team reaches five team points regardless of the current progress of other matches still on court.   Each match will start with the three doubles matches and will continue with singles action until the winning five points are obtained.

BW (15-6), who advanced to last year's OAC Title match, ends its season.  Mount Union (14-5) advances to the OAC semifinals and will face top-seeded John Carroll University.  The winner of the OAC Tournament receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.

Junior All-OAC player Peter Harris (Akron/Revere) and junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC player Doug Ganim (Olentangy/ Orange) scored the lone Yellow Jacket doubles point as the duo won for 22nd time this season by a score of 8-4 at first doubles.  Harris and Ganim end their third season with an overall record of 22-4 and now are 65-18 in their careers as a team.

In singles play, BW's comeback fell short as it won just two matches but sent the final two matches to a third set before the Purple Raiders claimed the victory.

Sophomore Nathan Katz (Upper Arlington/Bexley) claimed the Yellow Jackets first singles point as he won at third singles by scores of 6-0 and 7-6 and 7-5 in the tiebreaker.  Katz ended his season with a record of 13-12.  Sophomore Brian Carano (Akron/Revere) scored the second straight and final BW point as he won three set sixth singles match by scores of 4-6, 7-5 and 6-2.  Carano ended his first full year as a starter with an overall record of 16-5.
