11 Players Score in Men’s Lacrosse Non-Conference Win Over Oberlin

CLEVELAND, Ohio – 11 players on the Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team scored in the 18-5 non-conference victory over Oberlin College on day two of the Sixth City Classic hosted by Cleveland State University inside the Krenzler Dome.

BW (1-1) was led by sophomore Mike Nanosky (Medina) and junior All-OAC attack Brock Riemenschneider (Rocky River) as they each recorded hat tricks. Nanosky recorded his first hat trick in the brown and gold with a career and game high four goals on five shots. Riemenschneider scored a season-high three goals and added one assist for four points. In addition, sophomore All-OAC Chad Steinwachs (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsville North) and sophomore midfielder Judson Huston (Delaware/Rutherfold B. Hayes) each scored two goals.

Oberlin (0-2) was led by senior attack Jack Fabrizio as he scored a team-high two goals.

In the first quarter the Yellow Jackets outscored the Yeomen 6-2. Nanosky scored three of his four goals in the quarter and junior midfielder Jack Gerlack (Rocky River), Riemenschneider and senior All-OAC face-off specialist Alex Fioritto (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) each added goals.

BW extended its lead to 11-3 as it outscored Oberlin 5-1 in the second quarter. SteinwachsNanoskyRiemenschneider, junior midfielder Matt McDowell (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) and sophomore attack Alex Binner (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) each scored for the Yellow Jackets.

In the third quarter the Yellow Jackets went on a 3-0 run with when sophomore midfielder Derek Andrews (Alden, N.Y./Iroquois) scored his second of the season and Huston netted his two goals. Both teams scored two goals at the end of the third to make the score 16-5 going into the final quarter.

The Yellow Jackets scored the only two goals in the fourth quarter when freshman attack Griffin Dunkle (Amherst, N.Y./Central) scored his first career goal off a feed from McDowell at the 7:08 mark and sophomore Ethan Napieralski scored an unassisted goal with 1:52 left in the game.

BW is back in action on Saturday, February 25 when it hosts Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) University for a non-conference game on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium at 1 p.m.
