McEntire Joins Football Staff as Special Teams Coach and Recruiting Coordinator

BEREA, Ohio- Baldwin Wallace University Head Football Coach Jim Hilvert has announced that Tom McEntire will join his staff as the special teams coach and recruiting coordinator.

"I am very excited to have Tom McEntire part of the BW Football staff" said Hilvert. "Tom brings a lot of different experiences to the table that will enhance our staff. His passion for the game and his relentless work ethic will be a great addition to the BW Football program."

McEntire joins BW after serving as the offensive analyst for Wake Forest University in 2017 and then the defensive analyst in 2018 and 2019. Prior to Wake Forest, he was a safeties coach and camp coordinator at the University of Delaware for four seasons (2013-2016). 

"I'm extremely excited to join the BW staff and help contribute to the success the football program and Coach Hilvert have had" said McEntire. "BW attracts some of the best student athletes and I am eager to work with them."

Before the University of Deleware, he was at Rutgers University for four seasons as a cornerbacks coach (2012) and in charge of player development (2009-2011). He also served as the safeties coach for the University of Maine for one season (2008) and a wide receivers and running backs coach at his alma mater, Thiel College, for two years (2006-2007).

McEntire graduated from Thiel College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He also played football at Thiel as a quarterback for one season and a wide receiver for three.

BW opens the season on Saturday, September 7 when it travels to Alma, Michigan for its lone non-conference game against Alma College on Bahlke Field at 1 p.m.
