AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – 14 Baldwin Wallace University football student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.
In order to be selected as Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, appeared in at least one varsity contest and have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.
Senior College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American defensive back Kyle Kelly (Wadsworth/St. Vincent-St. Mary), senior placekicker Jimmy Marshall (Lakewood), senior quarterback A.J. Miller (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Springs Charter) and senior CoSIDA Academic All-American offensive lineman Ryan Sympson (North Lima/South Range), junior defensive back Spencer Haywood (Hudson) and junior offensive lineman Patrick Simon (Olmsted Falls), sophomore CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 punter Andrew Cregan (Navarre/Strasburg-Franklin), sophomore quarterback Jack Gibbons (Willoughby/Lake Catholic), sophomore linebacker Noah Henry (Sandusky/Perkins), sophomore defensive back Anthony Kendall (Port Richey, Fla./River Ridge), sophomore defensive lineman Cole Lavorini (Poland/Seminary), sophomore offensive lineman Jivan Meguerditchian (Avon Lake/St. Ignatius), sophomore linebacker Nick Pankow (Medina) and sophomore offensive lineman Austin Stafford (Riverview, Fla./Newsome) are 14 of the 57 student-athletes to be recognized this fall.
Kelly, who garners his third accolade, is pre-physical therapy major that carries a perfect 4.0 grade point average. He is a 2018 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American, a 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 first-team selection, a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies. For his career, Kelly appeared in 30 games and tallied 89 tackles and six pass breakups.
Marshall, who earns his second honor, is a business administration major that carries aa 3.63 grade point average. He is a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. For his career, Marshall has appeared in 30 games and has converted 6-of-10 fields goals with a career-long of 42 yards. He booted 52-of-58 extra points for a career total of 70 points.
Miller, who garners his third accolade, is a national security and political science double major that carries a 3.904 grade point average. He is a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. For his career, Miller has appeared in five games and has completed 56-of-97 passes for 756 yards with four touchdowns.
Sympson, who earns his third accolade, is biology major that carries a 3.867 grade point average. He is a 2018 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American, a 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 first-team selection, a Dean's List student, a Jacket Scholar and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta and Chi Sigma Alpha honor societies. In four seasons, Sympson appeared in 25 games.
Haywood, who garners his second honor, is a history major that carries a 3.692 grade point average. He is a Dean's list student. Haywood has appeared in nine career games and has recorded four tackles.
Simon, who earns his second accolade, is an economics major that carries a 3.671 grade point average. He is a Dean's list student. For his career, Simon has appeared and started in 30 games and has played at every position on the offensive line.
Cregan, who garners his first honor, is a sport management major that carries a 3.604 grade point average. He is a 2019 CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 first-team selection. In his career, Cregan has appeared in three games with 20 punts for 647 yards with a long of 49 yards.
Gibbons, who earns his first accolade, is a mild/moderate educational needs major that carries a 3.843 grade point average. He is a Dean's List student. Gibbons has appeared in seven career games and has completed 11-of-12 passes for 119 yards with one touchdown. He has carried the ball 21 times for 182 yards with an 83-yard touchdown. Gibbons has also returned one kickoff for 20 yards.
Henry, who garners his first honor, is a pre-physical therapy major that carries a 3.914 grade point average. He is a Dean's List student. For his career, Henry has appeared in five games and has record two tackles and has assisted on a quarterback sack.
Kendall, who earns his first accolade, is a pre-physical therapy major that carries a 3.75 grade point average. He is a Dean's List student. Kendall has appeared in 12 career games and has recorded 46 tackles, six pass break ups and picked off three passes.
Lavorini, who garners his first accolade, is a finance major that carries a 3.871 grade point average. He is a Dean's List student. For his career, Lavorini has appeared in nine games and has recorded six tackles.
Meguerditchian, who earns his first honor, is an engineering major that carries a 3.809 grade point average. He is a Dean's List student. Meguerditchian has appeared and started in 20 games at center.
Pankow, who garners his first accolade, is a management major that carries a perfect 4.00 grade point average. He is a Dean's List student. Pankow has appeared in 10 games and has recorded 78 tackles with three pass breakups, two quarterback sacks and one fumble recovery.
Stafford, who earns his first accolade is a sport management major that carries a 3.763 grade point average. He is a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar. For his career, Stafford has appeared in 12 games on the offensive line.
