Volleyball Falls to #20 Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team was defeated by nationally-ranked Ohio Athletic Conference foe Ohio Northern University in a three-set OAC match inside the ONU Sports Center.

BW (25-5, 3-5 OAC) fell to No. 20 Ohio Northern (24-4, 7-1 OAC) by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 26-14. 

Freshmen utility player Sam Pruett (Bolivar/Tuscarawas Valley) and middle hitter Taylor Brown (Maple Heights) led the Yellow Jacket offense with seven kills each. Freshmen utility players Alexis Garrett (Mentor) and Taylor Gimenez (Attica/Seneca East) had five and four kills, respectively. Brown also had a formidable presence at the net, recording 2.5 blocks in the match to lead the blocking effort.

Freshmen setters Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) and Abby Cosart (Lima/Bath) facilitated the Yellow Jacket offense as Egan recorded 15 assists and Cosart added 12 assists of her own.

Pruett and freshman defensive specialist/libero Jasmine Hromada (Lorain/Elyria Catholic) co-led the defense with 13 digs each, a new career high for Pruett.  Freshman defensive specialist/libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) also contributed 11 digs.  

BW is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 28, when it travels to Columbus for an OAC match against Capital University in the Capital Center Performance Arena at 1 p.m.
