Women's Tennis Takes Down NCAA DII Ursuline College

PEPPER PIKE, Ohio. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team traveled to NCAA Division II Ursuline College for today's match at Ursuline Tennis Courts. BW clinched a victory by a final score of 5-2.

Singles Play (4-2)

  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference Gabriela Heideman (Doylestown / Wadsworth) bested Payton Lewanski, 6-0, 6-0
  • Junior Academic All-OAC selection Kierstyn Yates (Grafton / Midview) defeated Chloe Lewanski, 6-0, 6-1
  • Sophomore Emma Trost (Norwalk) triumphed over Shelia Poindexter, 6-1, 6-0
  • Freshman Gillian Brown (Brunswick) clinched a win over Gabrielle Kelson 6-2, 6-3
  • Junior Academic All-OAC selection Juliet Penrod (Macedonia / Nordonia) fell to Alexandra Pignatiellot, 2-6, 6-7
  • Senior Nicole Babik (Medina / Highland) was defeated by Mika Westfal, 6-2, 4-6, 6-10

Doubles Play (1-0) *All Doubles play was worth a cumulative 1 point*

  • Heideman and Yates took care of the Lewanski sisters, 6-1
  • Trost and Brown outlasted Kelson/Poindexter 7-5
  • Penrod and Babik dropped to Pignatiello/Westfall 4-6

BW (3-11) concludes this week's play by hosting Otterbein at the Pop Collins Tennis Courts on Saturday, April 15th, at 1 p.m.
