Four Women's Tennis Players Named to College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Four Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. 

Junior Gabriela Heideman (Doylestown / Wadsworth), junior Juliet Penrod (Macedonia /Nordonia), junior Kierstyn Yates (Grafton/Midview) and sophomore Emma Trost (Norwalk) have been tabbed to CSC All-District Team and now advance to Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced on May 31.

Heideman, who earns her first accolade, carries 3.510 grade point average in communication sciences and disorders.  This season she led the team with eight singles victories and was tied for team lead with seven doubles wins.  In three seasons, she has recorded 21 singles victories and 25 doubles wins. Heideman is a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer. Off the court, she is an Academic All-OAC performer, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Penrod, who garners her first honor, carries a 3.873 grade point average in digital marketing and spanish. This season, she appeared in 15 singles matches and seven doubles matches. In her career, Penrod has played in 19 singles matches and has two career doubles wins. Off the court, she is an Academic All-OAC performer, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Yates, who earns her first accolade, carries a 3.869 grade point average in political science.  This season, she recorded four singles victories and tied for the team lead with seven doubles wins. In three seasons, Yates has recorded 14 singles victories and 14 doubles wins. Off the court, she is an Academic All-OAC performer, Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.

Trost, who garners her first honor, carries a 3.773 in psychology and neuroscience. This season, she won two singles matches and had four doubles victories. In her career, Trost has recorded six singles victories and five doubles wins. Off the court, she is a Dean's List student, Jacket Scholar and a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society.
