Women's Tennis Comes Up Short Against Mount Union

BEREA, Ohio. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team hosted the Mount Union Purple Raiders today at the Pop Collins Tennis Courts. However, BW came up short in the match by a final score of 3-6.

Singles Play (2-4)

  • Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference Gabriela Heideman (Doylestown / Wadsworth) overcame Abby Franks by scores of 6-2, 6-4
  • Junior Academic All-OAC selection Kierstyn Yates (Grafton / Midview) fell to Amelia Francisco, 3-6, 1-6
  • Sophomore Emma Trost (Norwalk) fell to Emma Thornton, 4-6, 0-6
  • Freshman Gillian Brown (Brunswick) battled Emily Peel in a nail biter falling by scores of 6-4, 3-6, 3-6
  • Senior Nicole Babik (Medina / Highland) lost to Chloe Bancroft, 2-6, 0-6
  • Junior Academic All-OAC selection Juliet Penrod (Macedonia / Nordonia) gathered a victory by default

Doubles Play (1-2)

  • Heideman and Yates were defeated by Franks/Francisco, 2-8
  • Trost and Penrod lost to Thornton/Peel, 2-8
  • Brown and Babik also gathered a victory by default

BW (2-11) are back in action tomorrow, April 13th, at 4 p.m. at Ursuline College in a rescheduled matchup due to weather delays at the Ursuline Tennis Courts.
