Women’s Tennis Falls to Nationally, Regionally Ranked Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio – Taking on a nationally-ranked and regionally-ranked opponent in Oberlin College, the Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team fell to the Yeowomen 9-0 inside the Heisman Field House.

No. 38 in the county and No. 9 in the region, Oberlin (2-2) opened up the match with a sweep of all three doubles. BW (2-3) was led by the No. 1 duo of junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Imani Robinson (Cincinnati/School for Creative & Performing Arts) and freshman Jayde Robinson (Cincinnati/School for Creative & Performing Arts) as they had the closest doubles match at 8-3.

After dropping a close first set 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Jayde Robinson cruised to a 6-2 second set win to tie the match at one set apiece. The freshman could not hold on for the victory, falling by a 4-6, 6-2, 3-6 score. One court over, sister Imani Robinson battled in her first set but could not keep up the energy and the momentum, losing her No. 2 singles match by a score of 7-5, 6-0.

BW returns to action with the team's annual Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina from March 2-10. The Yellow Jackets will take on Defiance College, Roanoake (Va.) College, Eastern Nazarene (Mass.) College, NCAA Division II Albany State (Ga.) University and St. John Fisher (N.Y.) College while on the trip.
