Women’s Swimming and Diving Knocks Off Bethany (W. Va.)

BETHANY, W. VA. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team both posted a victory against Bethany College inside the John J. Knight Natatorium.

BW defeated Bethany by a final score of 104-58.

The Yellow Jackets were led by junior freestyler Jordyn Miller (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) as she won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:07.55 and the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:08.07. 

Also earning first place finishes were junior freestyler Lena Kortis (Canton/Massillon Perry), sophomores Sarah Krupp (Williamsville, N.Y. /Williamsville South) and freshmen Ellie Clymer (Independence), Shari Gordnier (Centerville/Dayton Regional Stem) and Allie Thorson (Amherst/Marion L. Steele).  Kortis won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.89 seconds.  Krupp touched the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:07.44.  Clymer won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:13.92. Gordnier earned the victory in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:42.74. Thorson won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:33.60. 

In relay action, the 200-yard medley relay team of junior Nicole Gladish (Fairview Park/Fairview), Clymer, Kortis and freshman Jenna Ball (Salamanca, N.Y.) took home the win in a time of 2:01.51.

BW is back in action on Saturday, November 5 when it will host its home opener and an OAC meet against Manchester (Ind.) University in the BW Natatorium at 1 p.m.
