Women’s Lacrosse Returns Home with a Victory on Seniors' Night

BEREA, Ohio—The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team returned home to host Seniors' Night and face Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Muskingum University and came out victorious by a score of 18-4 on the Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium. 

Before the opening draw, BW recognized the team's three seniors, defender Taylor Beretich (Georgetown, Texas/Pickerington North), midfielder Sid Chamberlin (Wooster), and defender Taylor Nadal (Dublin/Scioto).

BW Leaders (5-7, 3-2 OAC)

  • Sophomore All-OAC midfielder Deanna Loukas (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Eastchester) scored 3 goals and added 1 assist
  • Freshman midfielder Rennick Mellon (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) also scored 3 goals and added 1 assist
  • Senior All-OAC goalie Ashleigh Hildreth (North Tonawanda, N.Y./Sweet Home) led with 5 saves

Muskingum Leaders (2-8, 0-4 OAC)

  • Riley Hudock scored a team high of 3 goals
  • Cailin Wise led with 4 saves

1st Quarter (BW 6-1)

  • 11:46 Loukas scores her first goal and takes the lead for the Yellow Jackets (BW 1-0)
  • 10:34 Senior All-OAC midfielder Maddie Ray (Cuyahoga Falls/Richfield Revere) takes advantage of a Muskingum turnover and scores her first goal of the game (BW 2-0)
  • 9:34 Freshman midfielder Taylor Miklos (Brunswick) scores her first goal of the game off a Ray pass (BW 3-0)

The Yellow Jackets return to play on Friday, April 15 as they hit the road and travel to Westerville, Ohio, and face OAC conference opponent Otterbein University. The match starts at 12 p.m. and the action will take place in Memorial Stadium.
