NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team won its second spring match an 7-2 victory against Franciscan University inside the North Ridge Tennis and Golf Club.
BW (3-0) took two of three doubles matches from Franciscan (0-7). The number two team of senior Academic All-OAC players Nathan Katz (Upper Arlington/Bexley) and Jake Liebler (Medina) won by a score of 8-4. The third unit of senior Brian Carano (Akron/Revere) and sophomore Roger Boyer (Medina/Brunswick) picked up the victory by a score of 8-1.
In singles action, the Yellow Jackets took five of six matches. Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Dominic Polifrone (Hudson) won at first singles by scores of 6-1 and 7-5. Katz earned the win at second singles by identical scores of 6-0. Sophomore Matt Harris (Akron/Revere) picked up the win at third singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-3. Carano netted the victory at fourth singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-2. Liebler secured the victory at fifth singles by identical scores of 6-2.
BW is back in action on Saturday, February 25 when it hosts a a pair non-conference matches against Washington and Jefferson (Pa.) College and Westminster (Pa.) College at the North Ridge Tennis and Golf Club at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
