BRIAN CARANO'S CAREER SYNOPSIS: Brian played four years of men's tennis and earned four varsity letters. He helped the Yellow Jackets compile a 75-19 four-year record with a .798 winning percentage. BW advanced to the OAC Tournament Final Four each season. Individually, Brian was a two-year starter (as a sophomore and as a senior) and compiled a 42-16 career singles and identical 42-16 career doubles record for a .724 career winning percentage in singles, doubles and overall/ combined.
ACADEMIC MAJOR: Finance
ITA SCHOLAR-ATHLETE: As a junior in 2015-2016 and senior in 2016-2017, Brian was selected as an ITA (Intercollegiate Temmis Association) Scholar-Athlete Award-winner.
THROUGH-THE-YEARS: As a freshman in 2013-2014, Brian played in his first season of tennis and earned a Certificate of Participation He alternated at No.6 singles and No.3 doubles. Brian compiled a 5-2 singles and 4-1 doubles record. BW finished 19-4 overall.
As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Brian played in his second season of tennis and earned his first letter. He started at No.6 singles and No.3 doubles. Brian compiled a 16-5 singles and 15-8 doubles record. He was selected as an ITA Scholar-Athlete. BW finished 15-6 overall.
As a junior in 2015-2016, Brian played his third season of tennis and earned his second letter. He alternated both in singles and doubles play. Brian compiled a 4-3 singles and 6-1 doubles mark. BW finished 24-5 overall.
As a senior in 2016-2017, Brian played his fourth season of tennis and earned his third letter. He started at No.6 singles and third doubles. He compiled identical singles and doubles marks of 17-6 and set career records for both singles and doubles wins. He had a 34-12 overall/ combined slate for a .739 winning percentage. Brian was selected as an ITA Scholar-Athlete for the second straight season. BW finished 17-4 overall.
