WILMINGTON, Ohio—The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team was defeated by Wilmington College, 2-0, in an Ohio Athletic Conference game on Townsend Field inside Williams Stadium.
BW (4-9, 1-2 OAC) outshot Wilmington (4-6-2, 1-2 OAC) 19-17 and put seven shots on goal.
Freshman midfielder Roman Kirschner and sophomore midfielder Niklas Martensson each scored goals for the Quakers.
In a first half where both teams took nine shots the Quakers scored the only goal when Kirschner scored an unassisted goal at the 22:52 mark to give Wilmington a 1-0 at the half.
In the second half Martensson closed out the scoring in the 86th minute off a cross from freshman defender Bradley Burden.
Even though freshman goalkeeper Patrick Mehal (Richfield/Revere) made four saves and his record fell to 2-2 on the year.
BW is back in action on Tuesday, October 11 when it hosts OAC and cross-town rival John Carroll University on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium at 7 p.m.
