BEREA, Ohio—Sophomore forward Logan Davis (Hinckley/Medina Heights) headed in the game winning goal on Seniors' and Parents' Night for the Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team as they defeated Otterbein University, 1-0, in an Ohio Athletic Conference game on Tressel Field inside of George Finnie Stadium.

Davis scored his second career game winning goal off a corner kick from freshman forward Danny Ruple (Berea/Berea-Midpark) to give BW (6-11, 3-4 OAC) the victory in the 96th minute.

Freshman goalkeeper Collin Hoffmann made five saves for Otterbein (7-6-3, 2-4-1 OAC).

In a scoreless first half, the Cardinals outshot the Yellow Jackets 11-8. BW had its best opportunities in the 13th minute when Collin Hoffmann denied sophomore midfielder Kurt Raney (Mentor) and Ruple. Freshman goalkeeper Patrick Mehal (Richfield/Revere) kept the game tied in the 37th minute as he made a diving save on a free kick by sophomore midfielder Toby Varland.

In the second half, BW outshot Otterbein 9-8. Both teams had their best opportunities in the final minute of regulation, but neither team could score so the game went into overtime.

In the first overtime period, each team was able to get one shot off. Davis scored the golden goal for the Yellow Jackets off the Ruple corner kick at the 95:47 mark to end the game.

In net, Mehal made a game-high seven saves and improved to 4-4 on the season.

BW is back in action on Tuesday, October 25 as it travels to Ada to face the number five nationally ranked Ohio Northern University Polar Bears in an OAC game on inside Kerscher Stadium at 7 p.m.
