Perella Named Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse head coach Tony Tatro has announced the addition of Dom Perella to his inaugural coaching staff.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Coach Perella to the Yellow Jacket family," said Tatro.  "Dom's experience and work ethic will add immediate value to our men's lacrosse program and athletic department. As a person, Dom is exceptional, a service leader to his core. Our team is eager to work with him as we compete for an OAC Championship this spring."

Perella comes to BW after serving as an assistant coach at fellow Ohio Athletic Conference member Marietta College for the past five seasons. At Marietta, he worked as the defensive coordinator before transitioning over to offensive coordinator. He also oversaw all recruiting plans for the team.

"I would like to thank Director of Athletics Steve Thompson, Associate Director of Athletics John Snell, and Head Coach Tony Tatro for the opportunity to join such a fantastic institution," commented Perella. "I would also like to thank my family, Shawn Runyon and Robbie Marasti for all their support. I look forward to continuing the team's push towards an OAC Championship and NCAA tournament run."

Perella is also the high school director and recruiting coordinator for Low and Away Pittsburgh Lacrosse. He has helped coach over 50 student-athletes get to the next level. Prior to joining Low and Way, he was a recruiting coordinator at 412 Elite Lacrosse.

Perella also has experience coaching at the high school level as he was a defensive coordinator with the Seneca Valley School District and at Peters Township High School. At Peters Township, he coached the 2018 Pittsburgh Player of the Year and was an Assistant Coach of the Year candidate.

Prior to coaching, Perella played football and lacrosse at Thiel (Pa.) College.  While at Thiel, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in business administration. Perella was a four letterwinner in football and lacrosse and was a team captain in lacrosse.
