UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team lost its second straight Ohio Athletic Conference game as it dropped a 10-7 decision to Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University on Wasmer Field at Don Shula Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring in the first period when freshman midfielder Shane Rakich (Dublin/Olentangy Liberty) found the back of the net off the assist from freshman midfielder Brett Librock (East Amherst, N.Y. /Williamsville East) with 13:51 remaining.  The Blue Streaks tied the game at 1-1 on the man-up goal by Keegan Flinter at the 7:11 mark.   BW regained the lead at 2-1 on the goal Wilhelm and assist from freshman attack Devon Henry (Avon Lake) with 6:22.  John Carroll tied the game at 2-2 at 1:43 left in the opening period.

The Blue Streaks opened the second quarter with two unanswered goals to take a 4-2 lead.  The Yellow Jackets cut the lead down to 4-3 on the unassisted goal by freshman midfielder Tanner Roberts (Murrysville, Pa. /Franklin Regional) at 5:12.  John Carroll added another goal to go up 5-3 BW cut the gap and closed the first half scoring at 5-4 on the goal by freshman midfielder Joey Briski (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Pine-Richland) with 1:48 remaining.

The Blue Streaks scored three unanswered goals to start the second half and third quarter.   The Yellow Jackets scored two goals to cut the lead down 8-6 on the unassisted goal by freshman defender Josiah Greve (Loveland /Milford) at the 2:02 mark.

BW opened the final quarter scoring and cut the lead to 10-7 when Wilhelm scored his second his goal of the game off the assist from sophomore midfielder attack Vinny Carson (Cleveland/Benedictine) with 13:27 remaining.  John Carroll scored the final two goals to secure the win.

In goal, sophomore Jake Harders (Rocky River/St. Edward) played all 60 minutes, faced 20 shots, allowed 10 goals and made 10 saves as he fell to 6-5 overall.

BW is back in action on Wednesday, April 23 when it travels to Alliance to play the University of Mount University in an OAC game in Mount Union Stadium at 7 p.m
