Two Volleyball Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-OAC Honors

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Two Baldwin Wallace University volleyball student-athletes have been named to the 2017 Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.

In order to be selected to the Academic All-OAC team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Junior three-time All-OAC outside hitter Alicia Lortcher (Norwalk) and junior defensive specialist Angel Redman (Hinckley/Medina Highland) are two of the 40 fall student-athletes to be recognized.

Lortcher, who earns her first Academic All-OAC honor, is a communications sciences and disorders major who carries a 3.51 GPA. She is a three-time All-OAC player after being tabbed as an honorable mention this fall. This season, she became the 15th player with 1,000 digs and just the 10th player with 1,000 kills in school history. In her career, Lortcher ranks eighth all-time with 1,096 kills and 15th all-time in digs with 1,107 while also recording 104 blocks, 88 service aces and 34 assists.

Redman, who garners her second Academic All-OAC accolade, is an early childhood education major who carries a 3.92 GPA. A Dean's List student, Redman has appeared in 38 matches with 86 digs and 10 service aces.
