BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team dropped a three-set Ohio Athletic Conference match against Muskingum University inside the Ursprung Gymnasium. 

BW (25-2, 3-2 OAC) fell Muskingum (17-3, 4-1 OAC) by scores of 13-25, 21-25 and 19-25. Muskingum snapped an eight-match losing skid to the Yellow Jackets and have won five straight matches.

The BW offense was led by sophomore outside hitter Allyson Smith (Macedonia/Walsh Jesuit)  as she hammered down 10 kills. Senior All-OAC right side hitter Ellen Hawkins (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) and junior two-time first-team All-OAC outside hitter Alicia Lortcher (Norwalk) smacked nine kills apiece.

Freshmen setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) set up the offense with 31 assists.

Defensively, freshman defensive specialist Sydni Colchagoff (Findlay/Liberty-Benton) anchored the back line with a career-high 16 digs.  Freshman libero/defensive specialist Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) and Lortcher tallied 12 digs.  Freshman defensive specialist/libero Jasmine Hromada (Lorain/Elyria Catholic) chipped in 10 digs.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Tuesday, October 17 when they travel to Tiffin for an OAC match against Heidelberg University in the Seiberling Gymnasium at 7 p.m.   BW closes out the home portion of its regular season on Saturday, October 21 when it hosts an OAC match against Capital University on Seniors' and Parents' Day in the Ursprung Gym at 1 p.m.
