Lortcher Garners Second Career OAC Volleyball Weekly Honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior two-time first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference outside hitter Alicia Lortcher (Norwalk) has been selected as the OAC Volleyball Player of the Week for the second time her career. 

Lortcher led the Yellow Jackets to four three-set victories last week and to their second straight team championship. She was named to the 19th Annual Marcia French All-Tournament team for the second time in the last three seasons.  Lortcher has now been tabbed to two all-tournament teams this season and has been named to four in her career.

She was responsible for 46 of the team's 152 kills.   Lortcher hit a team-best .376 for the week and tallied 34 digs and six service aces.

This season, she has appeared and started in all eight matches.  Lortcher leads the OAC with 4.6 kills per set, second with a .364 hitting percentage and is eight with 92 total kills.  She has recorded 81 digs, 14 service aces, 10 blocks and two assists.

For her career, Lortcher has appeared in 66 matches and 213 sets and has tallied 843 kills, 834 digs, 83 blocks, 75 service aces and 21 assists.

BW is back in action on Friday and Saturday, September 15-16 when it travels to Oneonta, New York to compete in the Hartwick (N.Y.) College Invitational inside the Lambros Arena.  The Yellow Jackets will face Plattsburg State (N.Y.) University and Nazareth (N.Y.) College in Friday contests at 6 and 8 p.m.   BW closes out the invitational on Saturday with matches against Oneonta State (N.Y.) University and Lycoming (Pa.) College at 1 and 5 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets return home on Friday and Saturday, September 22 and 23 when it hosts the annual Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and Ohio Athletic Conference Crossover.  Friday's matches begin at 2 p.m. with Saturday's matches slated to start at 10 a.m.
