Volleyball Winning Streak Continues with Three Set Victory Over Franciscan

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University volleyball team continued its winning streak as it cruised to a three-set non-conference victory over Franciscan University on Kuzma Court. 

BW (19-0), who is off to the best start in school history and who has only dropped six sets all season, defeated the Barons by scores of 25-13, 25-14 and 25-10.

The Yellow Jacket offensive attack was led by senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference right side hitter Ellen Hawkins (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) and freshman utility player Sam Pruett (Bolivar/Tuscarawas Valley) as each recorded a match-high eight kills, which was a career-best for Pruett.  Freshman utility player Jessica Laney (Navarre/Fairless) contributed a career-high tying five kills. Freshman setter Kathleen Egan (Cleveland/Beaumont) ran the offense with a match-high 25 assists. 

The BW back line was controlled by freshman libero Sarah Reinhard (Willoughby/South) as she dug out a match-best 11 balls.  Freshman defensive specialist Jasmine Hromada (Lorain/Elyria Catholic) contributed eight digs.

The Yellow Jackets remain on the road on Thursday, September 28 when they travel to Marietta for their OAC opener against Marietta College inside Ban Johnson Arena at 7 p.m.
