Volleyball Team Defeats Notre Dame College, 3-0

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team defeated Notre Dame (Ohio) College tonight (Wednesday, September 8), 3-0, at Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea. B-W won by scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-20.

The Yellow Jackets are now 14-8 overall on the season, while NDC falls to 1-19.

Leading the way offensively for B-W was sophomore middle hitter Rachel Switalski (North Royalton/Holy Name) with 11 kills and five blocks, two of which were solo, while freshman defensive specialist Taylor Burns (Tiffin/Fostoria St. Wendelin) added 10 kills and led the team with 16 digs.  Freshman middle hitter Colleen Bonacci (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) contributed six kills and three blocks.

Defensively, senior setter and co-captain Casey Passen (Ashville/Teays Valley) tallied 11 digs and contributed 19 set assists.  Sophomore libero and co-captain Natalie Emmons (Ashland/Senior) had 13 digs and sophomore setter Jessica Stitts (Eastlake/North) tabbed 14 set assists.

The Yellow Jackets return to action this Saturday, October 2 when they open Ohio Athletic Conference play at Marietta College at 1:00 p.m.
