Ashbaugh Garners Second Career OAC Weekly Honor

BEREA, Ohio – Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC swimmer Chandler Ashbaugh (Napoleon) has been named as the OAC Female Swimmer-of-the-Week for her efforts in BW's sweep at the Bethany (W. Va.) College Quad Meet last Saturday afternoon.

Ashbaugh, who earned her second career OAC weekly honor, won two individual titles and swam on a winning relay team to help the Yellow Jackets improve to 4-1 overall.   BW posted victories against host Bethany (110-98), Defiance (130-58) and Penn State Altoona (138-68).

She won the won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:05.42 and the 200-yard individual medley in a season-best time of 2:23.38. Ashbaugh, who swam the third leg, teamed up with senior Olivia Vocke (Napoleon), sophomore Carly Croyle (Avon) and freshman Jordyn Miller (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) to win the 200-yard medley relay in a season-best time of 2:01.60.

This season, she has already won seven individual events and has been a part of two winning relay teams in just three meets.

 holds the school-record in the 200-yard individual medley.  She is also a school recorder holder as a member of the 200-yard medley, 400-yard medley and 400-yard freestyle and 800-yard freestyle relay teams.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Saturday, November 15 when they open the home portion of their schedule with a non-conference dual meet with Penn State-Behrend in the BW Natatorium at 1 p.m.   Fans can watch all of the action live at http://tinyurl.com/bwpsbswim.
