BW Women Competed at Fredonia (N.Y)

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team placed seventh at the annual Fredonia (N.Y.) University Blue Devil Invitational inside the Steele Hall Natatorium. The meet began on Friday, December 5 and concluded on Sunday, Dec.7.  

The women scored 189 points to place seventh.  

On the first day, the women were led by freshman Jordyn Miller's (Ann Arbor, Mich./ Pioneer) sixth place finish in the 1650 free in a career-best of 18:59.75. Also, the 800-yard freestyle relay team of Miller, junior All-OAC swimmer Chandler Ashbaugh (Napoleon), freshman Allison Seeman (Napoleon) and senior Kayla Eyster (Canton, Mich./ Canton-Plymouth) was sixth in 8:39.64.  

On the second day, the women were led by Miller, who placed seventh in the 500 free in a career-best 5:27.87 and swam on the seventh place 200-yard free relay squad in 1:46.63, and freshman Courtney Severns (Bucyrus), who joined Miller on the 200 free relay team and was a member of the seventh place 400-yard medley relay team that also included freshman Nicole Gladish (Fairview Park/ Fairview), senior Olivia Vocke (Napoleon) and Seeman. Miller and Severns were joined on the 200- yard free relay squad by Eyster and Ashbaugh.  

On the final day, the women were led by Ashbaugh who placed ninth in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.68, and was a member of the eighth place 400-yard freestyle relay in a team time of 3:53.89. In addition, Vocke placed twelfth in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 5:27.53, and was a member of the 400-yard freestyle team. Also joining the relay team was Eyster and sophomore Carly Croyle (Avon).  

The Yellow Jacket swimmers and divers are idle until making their Annual Winter Break Trip to Sarasota, Florida for 10 days in early January for a Sarasota Quad Relay Meet.  Relays will begin at 4 p.m.
