BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team displayed a high-powered offensive performance in a 6-1 win over Ohio Athletic Conference foe Muskingum University.

BW (9-5-1, 2-2-1 OAC) dominated Muskingum (3-11, 0-5 OAC) from the opening whistle, outshooting the Fighting Muskies 35-2 and holding them shotless in the first half.

After being neutralized for the past three games, junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC forward Rachel Bender (Massillon/Jackson) got the Yellow Jackets on the scoreboard in the first 10 minutes of the first half off an assist from senior forward Kori Miller (North Olmsted/Holy Name). Miller and Bender connected once more in the first half, scoring the Yellow Jackets second goal in the 31st minute.

Junior forward Marissa Fabrizi (Brunswick) gave the Yellow Jackets a three-goal lead with an unassisted goal in the 43rd minute.

Eighteen seconds into the second half, BW surrendered its first shot and only goal of the afternoon when Mary Double found a way to get past the Yellow Jacket defense and sophomore goalkeeper Sophia Weidner (Medina).

Bender capped off her second hat trick of the season with a goal in the 51st minute off an assist from sophomore midfielder Kenna Poptic (Dublin/Jerome).

After Head Coach Jim Wojtkun made some substitutions to keep the girls' legs fresh and ready for the next game, junior forward Bess Massad (Bay Village/Magnificat) scored her second goal of the season in the 72nd minute and freshman forward Olivia Muldoon (Middleburg Heights/Berea-Midpark) scored her first collegiate goal in the 84th minute off an assist from Fabrizi.

BW will look to keep up the momentum when it travels to Tiffin to take on Heidelberg University for an OAC game on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 4 p.m. at the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.
