BEREA, Ohio - Get to know senior forward/defender Kori Miller (North Olmsted/Holy Name). This season, Miller has scored two goals and added five assists in 16 games. She was also named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the first time in her career on Oct. 2, 2017.

How did you get started in your soccer career?

I started playing soccer because my older brother was playing and my dad was coaching so I would always want to play with them. In my first game, I was afraid to even go on the field so my parents told me I could get ice cream after the game if I went on in and scored so I did just that and figured if I kept playing and scoring, I would get more ice cream, and here we are now.

If you could have dinner with one professional athlete (living or dead), who would it be and why?

If you would have asked me this question a few months ago, I wouldn't have even had to hesitate before saying that I would have dinner with Kyrie Irving. He was my favorite player on the Cavs and he's best friends with Chris Brown, who is my favorite artist, so hopefully Kyrie would bring Chris with him to dinner. But now that Kyrie isn't on the Cavs any more, I might choose Francisco Lindor or Brandon Guyer because they're my favorite players on the Indians.

What is your favorite holiday?

My favorite holiday is Halloween. I've always loved dressing up in costumes and getting candy. I also love seeing all of the decorations and buying new spooky socks every year. This Halloween will be extra special because Chris Brown's double album comes out that day and I've been really looking forward to it.

What is the best piece of advice you've ever received?

A few years ago, I heard the phrase, "When you have a bad day, a really bad day, try and treat the world better than it treated you" and that's really stuck with me ever since. I think it speaks a lot to properly handling any situation that you may have to deal with and realizing that experiencing bad things doesn't have to turn you into a bad person. It's basically just improving your karma.

What is your favorite food?

I like seafood a lot - crab, scallops, shrimp - but I don't eat them a lot because they're usually a more expensive item on a menu. My favorite go-to food is buffalo wings with bleu cheese.
