COLUMBUS, Ohio – In the team's regular season finale, the Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team closed out Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 3-1 loss to Capital University.

In a scoreless first half, Capital (9-7-1, 7-2 OAC) held the overall offensive advantage by taking eight shots to BW's two. However, the Crusaders only put three of those shots on goal to no avail as sophomore goalkeeper Emma Bruno (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bethel Park) came up with all three saves. The Yellow Jackets (11-7-1, 4-4-1 OAC) were not without scoring opportunities but were called offside three separate times in the first period.

Bruno recorded her fourth save of the night 30 seconds into the second half before Jordan Fike found the back of the net in the 47th minute to give the Crusaders a 1-0 lead.

Senior forward/defender Kori Miller (North Olmsted/Holy Name) got the Yellow Jackets on the scoreboard in the 61st minute, knotting up the game at 1-1. Capital was able to answer, however, as Carlee Murry regained the lead for the Crusaders in the 66th minute and gave them a two-goal advantage in the 69th minute on her second goal of the night. Murry's two goals would be all Capital needed to seal the victory.

With the win, Capital clinches the No. 2 seed for the OAC Tournament and a bye straight into the semifinals. Meanwhile, BW's seeding depends on the outcome of Saturday's game between the University of Mount Union and Otterbein University. If Mount Union wins, then the Yellow Jackets will be the No. 5 seed and travel to Alliance on Monday to take on the fourth-seeded Purple Raiders. If Otterbein wins, BW will travel out to University Heights as the No. 6 seed to take on crosstown rival and No. 3 seed John Carroll University.

BW will have a quick turnaround as the Yellow Jackets will take on either Mount Union or John Carroll on Monday, Oct. 30, in an OAC Tournament Quarterfinal game.
