Poptic Earns First Career OAC Weekly Honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC midfielder Anna Poptic (Dublin/Jerome) has been named the OAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the first time in her career.

Poptic scored all her season's goals this week while leading the Yellow Jackets to two crucial OAC victories. In Wednesday's game against Heidelberg University, the senior got BW on the scoreboard in the 30th minute and then scored the eventual game-winner in the 73rd minute, notching her first career multi-goal game. She then capped off her week by scoring the golden goal in the first overtime against Otterbein University, her own Senior Day, for a total of three goals and six points.

This season, Poptic has appeared in nine games, making seven starts, and has tallied three goals for a total of six points on 15 shots.

In her career, Poptic has played in 75 games, starting 71 of them, and has scored 12 goals and added seven assists for a total of 31 points on 76 shots. She is a two-time All-OAC midfielder, a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, a two-time Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OSCA) All-Ohio player and a two-time OSCA Academic All-Ohio honoree along with being a two-time team captain.

Poptic and the rest of the Yellow Jackets will close out the regular season this week, first visiting OAC-leading Ohio Northern University on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. inside Kerscher Stadium.
