Men's Indoor Track and Field Team Places 13th at Mid-February Meet

BEREA, Ohio – With all of the qualifying All-Ohio Indoor Championships Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field competitors resting for Saturday's championship meet, the remainder of the squad finished 13th at the Mid-February Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track in the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.

The 18-team meet consisted of 14 NCAA Division III schools and three NCAA Division II schools.  The 14 Division teams consisted of eight schools from Pennsylvania, five schools from Ohio and two schools from New York.

BW was 13th of 18 teams with 10 points.   Buffalo State won the meet with 124.50 points. 

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior jumper Sammy Ibrahim (North Olmsted) as he placed eighth in the long jump with a mark of 19 feet and 7.5 inches.   Freshman hurdler/sprinter Brandon Cole (Vermillion) placed eighth in the 55-meter hurdles and 15th in the 200-meter dash. Cole ran career-best times of 8.55 and 24.25 seconds, respectively. Freshman distance runner Holden Daly (Vermillion) took eighth in the 1,000-meter run in a career-best time of 3:02.88. Sophomore distance runner Justin Swords (Brunswick) finished 10th in the 800-meter run in a career-best time of 2:05.05. Sophomore distance runner Dylan Tanner (Mentor) placed 13th in the mile in a career-best time of 4:51.53. Freshman jumper Milton Woods (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) placed 13th in the high jump with a mark of 5'10".

In relay action, the 4x200-meter team of freshman sprinter Noah Kendrick (Akron/Walsh Jesuit), senior sprinter Tate Stoll (Norwalk/Western Reserve), sophomore sprinter Jared Reimel (Lake Mary, Fla./Lyman) and senior sprinter Chris Markus (Brooklyn) finished fourth in a time of 1:43.34.  The 4x400-meter relay team of Kendrick, Tanner, Swords and freshman distance runner Spencer Mahon (North Royalton) finished 10th in a time of  3:52.50.

BW is back in action tomorrow, Saturday, February 13 when it travels Westerville to compete in the All-Ohio Division III Indoor Championships hosted by Otterbein University in the Clements Recreation Center at 12 p.m.
