BEREA, Ohio –
Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field senior sprinter Ben Beidleman (Washiongton, D.C./ Saint Anselm's Abbey) and senior thrower Tyler Burdorff (Painesville/ Riverside) have been selected as 2016 CoSIDA Division III Track & Field Academic All-Americans. The duo lifts BW to six total Academic All-Americans for the 2015-2016 academic calendar and ties for the most in a single season in school history.

Beidleman was a first-team selection and Burdorff was a second-team selection.  The two CoSIDA Academic All-Americans give Baldwin Wallace 104 all-time selections which is the most of any Ohio Athletic Conference or NCAA Division III school in the state of Ohio and is tied for 12th nationally among Div. III colleges and universities. The two standouts advanced to the national ballot after each was selected as first-team CoSIDA Division III Academic All-District 7.

Beidelman is just the second BW student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors three times in his career and the first to be a three-time first-team choice. The other three-time pick was track and Field distance runner and swimming diver Peggy Fortune (1988-1992). He carried a 3.95 grade point average in accounting and graduated this spring Summa Cum Laude. Beidleman is a Dean's List Student and Jacket Scholar.   He is a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma and Dayton C. Miller honoraries.  Beidelman is the school-record holder in the indoor 200-meter dash. He is a two-time OAC champion in the outdoor 200-meter dash, including this spring, and earned NCAA Division III All-American accolades in the 200 meters as a sophomore.

Burdorff is a two-time Division III All-American and was the runner-up at this winter's NCAA Division III Indoor National Championship meet in the weight throw and again this spring was the runner-up in the hammer throw. The dual-sport student-athlete also was the four-year starting middle linebacker on the football team who carried a 3.42 grade point average in exercise science and pre-physical therapy. Burdorff was a three-time OAC outdoor champion, a five-time outdoor All-OAC performer and was the 2016 OAC Sparky Adams Most Outstanding Outdoor Field Athlete. He also was a USTFCCCA Div. III Great Lakes Region Field Athlete of the Year.
