Yellow Jacket Men's Golfers Take Seventh at OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished seventh at the 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament hosted by Muskingum University at the River Greens Golf Club.

BW placed seventh of eight teams with four round-and 72-hole total of 1,253 on the par-72 and 6,545-yard River Greens layout.   The Yellow Jackets had rounds of 311, 318, 316 and 308.  Otterbein University was the team champion with a total of 1,188.  Capital University was the runner-up with 1,202 and the University of Mount Union was third with 1,225.

Sophomore Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/ Christian Community School) led BW with a four-round total of 308 to finish tied for 11th.  Lucas had career-low tying rounds 76 before finishing with a 79 and 77.  Senior defending OAC Medalist Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/Fairview) finished tied for 22nd with a total of 312 after rounds of 79, 75, 78 and 80. 

In addition, sophomore Matt Kershner (Independence) tied for 27th with a total of 317.  Kershner fired rounds of 79, 85 and 79 in the first three rounds and finished with a career-low 74 in the final round.  Sophomore All-OAC player Scott Schroeder (Aurora) placed tied for 32nd with a total of 319 after he shot rounds of 77, 85, 80 and 77. Senior Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/Medina Highland) rounded out the BW five as he finished tied for 34th with a total of 324.  Lyon ended his career with rounds of 79, 82, 83 and 80.
