BW Men’s Golfers Tied for Fourth after First Round of OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio -- The defending Ohio Athletic Conference Champion Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team is tied for fourth after the first day of competition at the OAC Championships hosted by Muskingum University at the River Greens Golf Course.

BW fired an opening round of 311 to tie for fourth place along with cross-town rival John Carroll University on the par-72 and 6,668-yard River Greens layout. Otterbein University leads the three day competition with a round of 297.

Sophomore Weston Lucas (Columbia Station /Christian Community School) led the Yellow Jackets with a career-low round of 76.  Sophomore All-OAC player Scott Schroeder (Aurora) was just one stroke behind Lucas with a 77.   Senior Defending OAC Medalist Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/Fairview), senior Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/Medina Highland) and sophomore Matt Kershner (Independence) all had opening rounds of 79.

BW is back in action on Saturday, April 25 for the second round of the OAC Championships.  The Yellow Jackets are slated to tee off at 9 a.m.   The third and final round will take place on Sunday, April 26 at 10 a.m.
