BW Men Win Golf Dual Match With JCU on Tie-Breaker

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference and Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University in a dual match at the Shaker Heights Country Club on a tie-breaker. This is BW's first northern event of the 2015 spring season. 

BW and JCU each carded a round of 316 strokes and had to go to the fifth player in the starting lineup for the tie-breaker. For BW freshman Dennis Millgard carded an 81 for its fifth-best score while JCU's fifth player had an 83.

Leading the way was sophomore All-OAC player Scott Schroeder (Aurora) with a 77 and he was followed by sophomore Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/ Christian Community School) with a 79, senior All-OAC player and 2014 OAC Tournament-medalist Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/ Fairview) and sophomore Matt Kerschner (Independence) each had 80s.

Playing as individuals, senior Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) shot an 80, sophomore Austin Griffith (Barberton) had an 81, senior Andy Ingram (Vermilion) had an 88 and junior Aaron Harden (Mentor) had a 93 in his first collegiate tournament.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action this Sunday and Monday, April 12-13 when BW travels to Columbus to compete at the annual 54-hole OAC Invitational, hosted by Otterbein University, at the Little Turtle Country Club in Westerville.
