Men Golfers Finish Third at Arizona Christian Tournament

PHOENIX, Arizona -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished third at the spring season-opening Arizona Christian University three-team Spring Invitational at the Moon Valley Country Club.

BW carded a round of 338 on the extremely difficult par-72 and 7,216-yard Moon Valley layout. St. Xavier (Ill.) University finished first with 306 stroke and host Arizona Christian placed second with 319 strokes.

Leading the way was senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athlete Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/ Fairview) who carded a pair of 40s on each the front and back nine holes en route to a team-leading 80. He was followed by sophomore Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/ Christian Community School) with an 83, sophomore Matt Kerschner (Independence) with an 86 and sophomore All-OAC player Scott Scroeder (Aurora) and senior Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) each with an 89.

Playing as individuals were sophomore Austin Griffith (Barberton) with an 85, senior Andy Ingram (Vermilion)  with an 86 and freshman Dennis Millgard (North Ridgeville) had a 94.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19 when they compete at the annual Nye Intercollegiate at the Wooster Country Club.
