BW Finishes Eighth at OAC Men’s Golf Fall Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished eighth of nine teams at the Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union at the Alliance Country Club.

The Yellow Jackets fired a two-round total of 645 on the par 70 and 6,411-yard Alliance Country Club layout.  BW shot a 318 in the first round and a 327 in the second and final round.

Sophomore All-OAC golfer Scott Schroeder (Aurora) led the Yellow Jackets with a two-day total of 152, including a career-low 72 in the first round.  Senior and defending OAC Medalist Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/Fairview) was second with a score of 161 and an opening round of 79.   
Sophomores Matt Kershner (Independence) and Weston Lucas (Columbia Station /Christian Community School) each had rounds of 166.   Kershner fired and 84 and 82 while Lucas had two rounds of 83.   Sophomore Austin Griffith (Barberton) rounded out the starting five with a two round total of 171, including an 83 on the final day.

Seniors Andy Ingram (Vermillion) and Cody Lyon (Wadsworth /Medina Highland), junior Connor Duplin (North Canton / St. Thomas Aquinas) and freshman Dennis Millgard (North Ridgeville) all played as individuals.   Lyon had a score of 166, including a season-low 77.   Ingram had a two-day total of 167 with an 83 in round two while Millgard was a close behind with a 168, including a 78 on day one.   Duplin shot a 174 with an 83 in the final round.

BW next travels to West Lafayette on Saturday, September 20 to compete in the River Greens Classic hosted by John Carroll University at the River Greens Golf Course, which is the host site of the OAC Championships in the spring.
