BW Men Finish Fifth at Gatorade Collegiate Classic

LAWRENCE, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team finished fifth of seven teams at the Gatorade Collegiate Classic hosted by the College of Wooster at the Zoar Village Golf Course. It was the first fall tournament of the season for the Yellow Jackets.

BW carded rounds of 308 on Saturday and 298 on Sunday for a 606-stroke total on the par-72 and 6,736-yard Zoar Village Golf Course layout.

 Leading the way was senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference competitor Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/ Fairview) who carded rounds of 73 and 73 for a 146-stroke total to place fourth individually. In addition, sophomore All-OAC player Scott Schroeder (Aurora) had rounds of 73 and 74 for a 147-stroke total to tie for sixth individually.

Joing the duo in the starting lineup were sophomore Matt Kershner (Independence) who had rounds of 84 and 74 and his 158-stroke total tied him for 27th, transfer Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/Christian Community School) had rounds of 83 and 77 for a 160 total to tie for 31st, and junior Andy Ingram (Vermilion) had rounds of 79 and 84 and his 163 total tied for 35th.

Playing as individuals were senior Cody Lyon (Hinckley/Medina Highland) who had rounds of 83 and 80 for a 163 total to tie for 35th, and freshman Dennis Millgard (North Ridgeville) had rounds of 76 and 88 for a 164 total to tie for 37th.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action next Sunday and Monday, Sept. 14-15 when they participate in the Ohio Athletic Conference Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union at the Alliance Country Club.
