BW Men’s Golfers Fifth at Mt. Union Fall Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The defending Ohio Athletic Conference Champion Baldwin Wallace University men's golf team placed fifth last weekend at the University of Mount Union Fall Invitational at the Tannenhauf Golf Club.

The Yellow Jackets fired rounds of 324 and 310 on the Par-72 and 6,600-yard Tannenhauf layout to place fifth of six teams.

Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athlete Scott Schroeder (Aurora) led BW with rounds of 78 and 72 for a two-day and 36-hole total of 150 strokes to place 11th of 58 total players.

Defending OAC medalist and senior Adam Sanders (Fairview Park/ Fairview) was second with rounds of 81 and 76 for a 157-stroke total to place tied for 29th. He was followed by sophomore Weston Lucas (Columbia Station/ Christian Community School) with rounds f 79 and 83 for a 162 total to place 41st, sophomore Matt Kershner (Independence) with rounds of 89 and 79 for a 168 total to place 51st and senior Andy Ingram (Vermilion) with rounds of 86 and 84 for a 170 total to place in a tie for 52nd.

Playing as individuals were junior Connor Duplin (North Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas) with rounds of 79 and 87 for a 166 total to tie for 47th, senior Cody Lyon (Wadsworth/ Medina Highland) with rounds of 84 and 88 for a 172 total to tie teammate and sophomore Austin Griffith (Barberton), who had rounds of 89 and 83 for a 172 total, for 54th and freshman Dennis Millgard (North Ridgeville) had rounds of 83 and 92 for a 175 total to place in a tie for 58th.

The Yellow Jackets close out the fall portion of their scheduled on October 5-6 when it travels to Mount Vernon, Ohio to compete in the Kenyon College Fall Invitational at the Mount Vernon Country Club.
