AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC performer Bella Pendola (Warsaw/River View) has been named OAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second time in her career.

BW was the only Division III program that competed in the Tommy Evans Invitational, which was hosted by the University of Akron at the Silver Creek Metro Park Cross Country Trails. Running alongside local Division I and Division II talent, Pendola was the top Yellow Jacket finisher with a career-best 5k time of 18 minutes, 49 seconds and placed 16th out of 102 runners. The junior improved on her previous career best by 46 seconds.

In both meets this season, Pendola has led the BW women's team as she also placed fifth as the top Division III runner in the annual Wooster Invitational.

The Yellow Jackets will race again on Saturday, Sept. 22, in the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by Williams College at Mount Greylock High School in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
