Women's Cross Country Squads Begin 2012 Season at Wooster Meet

WOOSTER, OHIO --  Junior Brooke Hradisky (Aurora) placed seventh overall in the four thousand-meter run as the Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team opened its 2012 season today (Friday, August 31) by competing at the unscored The College of Wooster Invitational Meet at the L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course in Wooster.

Hradisky led the women as she completed the 4k run in 16:11.80. She was followed by senior Tess Hoogeveen (Westerville/ South) as she placed eighth with a time of 16:23.10. Freshmen, Alyssa Nieset (Geneva) and Taylor Jurczynski (Parma/ Normandy) placed  11th and 13th and crossed the finish line in times of 16:55.50 and 16:58.40, respectively.

In the five thousand-meter run, senior Shaina Kovatch (Parma/ Valley Forge) as she placed seventh overall in a time of 20:35.90. In addition to Kovatch, freshman Kali Fittro (Tiffin/ Columbian) as she placed 12th and crossed the finish line in a time of 21:44.90.

The Yellow Jackets are idle this weekend and next compete on Saturday, Sept. 8 when they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to compete at the Knight Invite at Calvin College at 10:00 a.m.
