BEREA, Ohio --  Baldwin Wallace University Softball Head Coach Tom Spencer has announced that senior All-OAC pitcher Abby Cosart (Lima/Bath), senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference baseman Alex Kozich (Avon) and senior All-OAC outfielder Macy Leach (Westerville/Central) and have been selected as team captains for the 2020 season.

"Abby, Alex, and Macy have been major contributors to our success the past few seasons," stated Spencer. I am confident that their leadership will take our team to even greater heights this season."

Cosart, a two-year letterwinner, has appeared in 37 career games with 27 career starts in the circle.  She has a career record of 18-10 with three saves in 173 innings pitched.  Cosart has recorded 78 strikeouts, including a career-best 48 in 2019, with a 3.16 earned run average.  Off the field, she is an intern in the Center for Innovation and Growth and is a student-assistant in the Office of Athletic Communications.

Kozich, a three-year letterwinner, has appeared in 113 career games and has 107 hits, 54 runs batted-in (RBIs), 21 doubles, 17 walks, six triples and three homeruns.   She has also recorded 221 putouts and 129 assists.  Off the field, Kozich is a two-time Academic All-OAC selection, a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 selection, a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar.

Leach, a three-year letterwinner, has appeared in 88 career games and has 80 hits, 43 RBIs, 28 walks, 20 stolen bases, 11 doubles, four triples and one homerun.  She has also recorded 117 putouts and four assists.  Leach was second in the OAC in 2019 with a career-high 15 stolen bases.  Off the field, she is a Dean's List student.

BW opens the 2020 season on Monday, March 9 when it travels to Tucson, Arizona to compete in the annual Tucson Invitational Games as a part of its spring break trip.
