BEREA, Ohio – Four Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis student-athletes have been selected to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference team, including an impressive three of six on the first-team.
Seniors Peter Harris (Akron/Revere), Doug Ganim (Westerville/Olentangy Orange) and Kyle Patterson (Wooster/Triway) were named to the first-team while freshman Dominic Polifrone (Hudson) was selected as honorable mention.
Harris, the 2015 OAC Player-of-the-Year and four-year letterwinner, earned his third straight first-team honor and his fourth career All-OAC accolade. This season, he posted a record of 27-6 at first singles, including an undefeated mark in OAC action. Harris and Ganim, who were doubles partners all four years, had a record of 24-8 at first doubles. He ranks fourth all-time in school history with a record of 92-21, tied for second all-time along with Ganim with 89 career doubles victories and fourth with 181 combined singles and doubles wins. Harris was a three-time OAC Men's Tennis Player-of-the week. He was an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete selection as a junior and is a Dean's List student.
Ganim, a four-year letterwinner and three-time Academic All-OAC selection, earns his second straight first-team honor and his third career All-OAC accolade. This season, he had a record of 25-5. Ganim and Harris, who were doubles partners all four years, had a record of 24-8 at first doubles. He is sixth all-time in school history with 86 singles victories, tied for second all-time along with Harris with 89 career doubles wins with 89 and fifth with 175 combined singles and doubles victories. Ganim is a two time OAC Men's Tennis Player-of-the Week. He is a Dean's List student and a member of the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society. Ganim was Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athlete selection as a junior. He was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 team and is now a candidate for Academic All-American honors. Ganim graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Patterson, a four-year letterwinner and three-time Academic All-OAC selection, earns his second straight first-team honor and his fourth career All-OAC accolade. This season, he led the team with a record of 30-2 at third singles. Patterson teamed up with Polifrone for a 24-7 record at second doubles. He is third all-time in school history with 96 singles victories, fifth all-time in doubles wins and is third in school history with 183 combined singles and doubles victories. Patterson is a three time OAC Men's Tennis Player-of-the Week. He is a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete. Patterson is a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar. He is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta, Chi Sigma Alpha and Dayton C. Miller honor societies. Patterson graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Polifrone garners his first career All-OAC honor and first varsity letter. He posted a record of 24-3 at fourth singles. Polifrone teamed up with Patterson for a 24-7 record at second doubles. He was selected as the OAC Men's Tennis Player-of-the-Week on March 1.
BW finished the year with an overall record of 24-5 and an OAC slate of 6-1. The Yellow Jackets advanced to the OAC Tournament Championship.
