Men's Swimming and Diving Splashes Past Hiram

HIRAM, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team defeated Hiram College in a non-conference dual meet inside the Alumni Memorial Pool. 

BW (4-2), who has won fourth of its last five meets, defeated Hiram (0-4) by a final score of 120-95.   

The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman stroker Kyle Cordrey (Mansfield/Ontario) and sophomore diver Evan Rinaldi (Cleveland/Cleveland Heights) won a pair of events. Cordrey won the 200-meter individual medley and the 400-meter freestyle in times of 2:31.33 and 4:51.07. Rinaldi captured the 1-meter six dive event and the 3-metrer dive event with 160.60 and 161.80 points.

In addition, sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference performer Greg Shaw (Colorado Springs, Colo. / Manitou Springs) won the 50-meter freestyle in a time of 25.96 seconds.  Freshman stroker Matthew Butt (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) captured 100-meter breaststroke in a time of 1:18.14.

In relay action, the 200-meter medley relay unit of junior freestyler Tyler Allison (Napoleon), Butt, freshman stroker Michael Morsch (Phoenix, Ariz./Notre Dame Preparatory) and sophomore freestyler Austin Lockhart (Olmsted Falls) took first in a time of 2:00.37. 

BW is back in action on Saturday, November 18 when it travels to Alliance for an OAC dual against the University of Mount Union in the Hammond Natatorium at 1 p.m.
