ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team dropped its first Ohio Athletic Conference game as it fell to the University of Mount Union by a final score of 3-1 at Mount Union Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets (6-8-1, 2-1-1 OAC) snapped their six game non-losing streak at five wins and one tie.   The Purple Raiders (7-6, 1-3 OAC) snapped a three-game losing skid, all of which came in OAC action.

Mount Union did all of its damage in the first half as Aaron Liezert accounted for all three of the Purple Raider goals.  Mount Union took the early 1-0 lead when Liezert scored off the cross from Trever Wendel at the 12:31 mark.  The Purple Raiders and Liezert scored the second goal of the game just two minutes later off the assist from Jack Weber at 14:30.  Mount Union scored its final goal of the game and half when Liezert recorded the hat-trick on an unassisted goal at the 36:25 mark.

BW scored its lone goal of the contest when sophomore forward Craig Wallace (Boxford, Mass. /Tilton School) scored his first collegiate goal off the second assist of the season for senior Academic All-OAC forward Michael Brennan (Akron/Walsh Jesuit) with six minutes remaining in the game.

Despite the loss, the Yellow Jackets outshot the Purple Raiders by a count of 16-7, including 10-6 shots on goal and won the corner kick battle by a 8-1 margin.   BW freshmen netminder Ryan Asbury (Cincinnati/Turpin) suffered the loss as he faced seven shots, including six on goal, allowed three goals and made three saves.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, October 17 when they host Wilmington College in an OAC game on the Tressel Field inside Finnie Stadium at 7:30 p.m.  Fans can follow all of the action live at http://tinyurl.com/bwwilmsoc.
