AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – After its sixth consecutive trip to the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament, the Baldwin Wallace University men's lacrosse team was chosen third in the 2020 OAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.

Claiming the third spot for its third season in a row, BW received 64 points and one first-place vote amongst the other 10 OAC teams. Crosstown rival and four-time defending OAC Champions John Carroll University earned the No. 1 spot in this year's preseason poll, with 81 points and eight first-place votes. Coming in at second was 2019 OAC regular season champion and OAC tournament runner-up Capital University with 75 points and the one remaining first-place vote. Ohio Northern University and Otterbein University rounded out the top-five vote getters with 53 and 40 points, respectively.

"We're glad to hear that there are high expectations for this team around the league," Head Coach Trey Keeley began. "I'm looking forward to testing this team out this spring, but we have a lot of work to do before we open up OAC play. There is a unique mix of confident returners and impact freshmen that definitely have something to prove. We are working hard in practice and in the weight room, and I am learning more about this team every day as we continue to come together. Our seniors have a chance to truly make an impact on the program."

Keeley, who is entering his third season at the helm of the program, returns 19 letterwinners and three All-OAC players from last year's squad that went 14-3 overall and 8-1 in conference play, advancing to the OAC Tournament Semifinals.

The Yellow Jackets will begin their 2020 season with their home opener on Saturday, February 22, as BW hosts non-conference opponent State University of New York at Geneseo at 1:00 p.m. in George Finnie Stadium.
