Nanosky got BW off to a quick start, netting his first goal in just the first minute of action. Brockport answered with a man-up goal at the 12:29 mark and then proceeded to outscore the Yellow Jackets 3-1 in the period with the help of some lockdown defense.

Steinwachs opened up the second half with an unassisted goal, tying Brock Riemenschneider's school record with his 107th career goal and trimming the Golden Eagles' lead to 7-6. Scores from sophomore midfielder Nicholas Nanosky (Medina) and a pair of goals from Bower tied the game at 9-9 heading into the final period.

Defense was the mark to start the fourth quarter as neither team could find the back of the net. The Golden Eagles regained the lead with 8:45 left in the game and added another score less than 40 seconds later. Brockport added its final goal with 3:23 remaining while its defense held the Yellow Jackets scoreless for the entire period, marking the first time all season BW did not score once in a quarter.
