Schroeder Earns Medalist Honor on Final Day of OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio –  Senior Scott Schroeder (Aurora) earned medalist honors to lead the men's golf team to a fifth place finish at the three-day Ohio Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Muskingum University on the River Greens Golf Course.

BW placed fifth of eight teams with a team score of 909 on the par-72 and 6,668 yard course. Otterbein University won its third straight OAC title with a score of 883.

Schroeder, who is the first Yellow Jacket medalist at the OAC Championships since the 2014 tournament, earned his sixth career medalist honor. Schroeder shot a round of 78 on day three for a three-day total of 216 to win the tournament. Along with Schroeder, senior Matt Kershner (Independence) earned All-OAC honors as he finished tied for 10th. Kershner fired a round of 77 for a combined score of 224.

In addition, freshman Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) shot a team-best round of 76 to finish with a total of 229. Sophomore Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) carded a round of 79 on day three for a combined score of 241 and sophomore Ben Ladaika(Erie, Pa./Cathedral Catholic) shot a round of 78 for a total of 171.
