Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth at John Carroll Invitational

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's golf finished fourth at the two-day John Carroll University Invitational on the River Greens Golf Course.

BW finished fourth of four teams with a team score of 612. NCAA Division II Malone University won the invitational. 

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior Scott Schroeder (Aurora) as he shot rounds of 75 and 77 for a team-best score of 148. In addition sophomore Hunter Miller (Frankfort/Adena) recorded rounds of 78 and 75 to finish with a score of 153 and senior Weston Lucas (Strongsville/Christian Community School) carded rounds a season-best tying round of 76 on day one and 78 on day two for final of 154. Senior Matt Kershner (Independence) and freshman Ben Ladaika (Erie, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) closed out the top-five. Kershner shot rounds of 82 and 75 for a total of 157 and Ladaika recorded two rounds of 82 for a final score of 164.

The BW "B" team was led by freshman Jimmy Clark (North Olmsted) as he recorded two rounds of 77 for a final of 154. Sophomore Brad Blaine (Brooklyn) shot rounds of 80 and 79 for a score of 159. Sophomores Jack Kyle (Bay Village/Bay) and Adam Morris (Grafton/Midview) and junior Tommy Glenn (Avon) closed out the team.  Kyle carded rounds of 77 and 88 for a score of 165, Morris shot rounds of 88 and 86 for a final of 174 and Glenn recorded a career-best tying round of  88 on day one and a 95 on day two for a total of 183.

Sophomore Brayton Thornburg (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) played as an individual and shot a career-best round of 91 on day one and a 92 on day two for a final of 183.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday and Monday, April 9 and 10 when they travel Etna for the Ohio Athletic Conference Invitational on the Cumberland Trail Golf Course.
